In 2020 I found myself seeking out writing communities. With little to work with locally, I started diving into the online groups, primarily on Discord. Each had their vibe but none of them were quite what I was looking for. So in December 2020 I decided to make my own group!
Goblin City SFF Writers has grown from a handful of people to a community of people from around the world. We’re 18+ and LGBTQIA+ friendly with a focus on providing a cozy space for busy adults. The group focuses on fantasy and science fiction, and ranges from hobbyists to writers seeking publication (traditionally, indie, or self).
Some of our server features include:
- Weekly write-ins for sprinting and chatting
- Daily and weekly questions and conversation prompts
- Regular monthly events
- Server-wide challenge
- Small group (3-6 people) program
- Threads for sharing more about your writing projects
- And lots of channels for resources, events, discussing different aspects of writing, and more!
